Ella’s fourth year
Well, there were some big things this year…travel for the family, travel for the parents (last time for a long time), lots of William taking over, finding out we are expecting our 3rd baby, and the first day of school!!
First, William passed up Ella in size about the time he was 18 months and she was 3-years-old…in case you’ve wondered when he started getting tall. ALWAYS. Everything I see in my old posts has him over 95th%…so we are guessing he’ll just always be that way. Finding out we were expecting Jonathan was so much fun…but also right smack dab in our lives getting SO much crazier that we might not have been thinking that through very well…God is bigger than what we could have planned.
Ella started PPCD (preschool program for children with disabilities) and it was AMAZING!! The hardest part of that year was realizing that we were in a new season with seizures. For those that lived those times with us, it was awful. We really thought we’d lose her each time because they were so hard to control. She had grand mal seizures and they were horrific to watch. She had 3 that year…August 19, 2009; October 11, 2009 and February 26, 2010. If she had more then they got moved over to Facebook and it’s about to be a LOT harder to recap when I start plugging through there (#overposterproblems).
This is also when we discovered that she was having chronic urinary tract infections and it would be 4 more years before we would find a solution to these (not a sales pitch, just where we stood in helplessness). In case you were wondering…Ella was beautiful in every single picture I found of her during this time, she’s stunning to see and remember, but William was my saving grace. His ability to DO EVERYTHING and do it well and love Ella big was a gift I’ll never be able to put into words. BUT GOD.
